Sounded good, based on the description, although I find it, after the fact, very arrogant, to ask for a $12/pp guarantee for the reservation. and saw on Open Table a restaurant on Colley avenue that we had never visited, Off the Hook Seafood and Chophouse. We wanted sea food and we went to open table to see about an open late lunch, which was still rare while the world opens. Saturday is a day for my wife and I to have a late lunch, early dinner. Maybe the Ghent location would have treated us better. I don’t blame her for the mistake, however had she provided us with better service, like actually reading our order back to us, telling us her name, apologizing for taking so long to come to our table initially, barely checking on us, and lying to my face about having NO specials (like I never dine out and know there would be a restaurant week menu OR specials)….I could “recommend a friend.” But I’m too good of a friend to subject them to racial bias. When our dinner arrived mine was not what I ordered (awesome) so I had to wait (awhile) for her to come “check on us” so I could tell her about the mistake. My fiancé was disappointed when he heard they had flounder as a special because he really wanted some and it wasn’t on the menu. Each of their servers wasted no time coming to their tables, obtained their drink orders, and immediately told them what the “SPECIALS” were! We were SO taken aback, that we actually asked one of the servers if there were specials, and he happily ran down the list. Next thing we knew, two other couples were seated at their tables, both non-minority couples (both my fiancé and I are minorities). She looked directly in my face and pleasantly said, “No we do not.” We thought it was odd being it “was” Chesapeake Restaurant Week! We placed our order and didn’t think anything else about it. she asked if we had any questions so I asked were there any specials. She wasn’t assisting other patrons as there was a different server assigned to each table. After being seated, it took 10 minutes for our server to come to our table. My fiancé and I went for dinner during restaurant week.
